Project Description
Frank Wagner Elementary School
Monroe, WA, USA
Frank Wagner Elementary school is the landmark to watch the Vaux Swift birds in Autumn. Every year, as the birds migrate, they will come and roost in a chimney near the school. The birds became the main inspiration for the design of their new school addition. We decided to treat the main stair and communal area of the school as if it was inspired by the chimney. As the design developed, the flight pattern-like geometric shapes graced the halls with wainscot.

The Process
My role as an Interior Designer on the project was impliment and further develop conceptual designs from the Senior Interior Designer. These tasks involved Sketchup conceptual design explorations, drawing set and detail development in Revit, participate at internal team meetings, finish selection, and interior finish questions in Contruction Administration.
Once the building was under construction, I made many site visits to answer any questions and make design decisions that arose through the construction process.
