Project Description
Juanita High School
Kirkland, WA, USA
Juanita High School is a rebuild and enlargment project of the 1971 facility. The 217,000 SF new school includes 36 standard classrooms plus science labs, art, CTE, special education, instrumental and vocal music, library, theater, and cafeteria (total of 71 teaching spaces). The design of the school is inspired by a geode. The hard shelled outter walls surround a beautiful, sparkling courtyard at the center. This open to nature courtyard allows all of the teaching spaces to get natural lighting.

The Process
My role in this project is as an interior designer. I played a major role in the tile design of the restrooms and wall surrounding the classroom doors. Along with design, management, and updates to the door schedules and details. The project included weekly coordination meeting with the internal design team and cross-disciplinary collaboration with structural, MEP, and Acoustical.
