Project Description
The Bridge of Hope
Sierra Leone, Africa

The Bridge of Hope is making an impact in Sierra Leone to educate, provide dental, meals, clean water, plant churches, provide medical services, build communities, and train in agriculture. I worked closely with the founders to design and draw an education facility. The facility is used for classes/training for the local people, hosting missionaries - both full and part-time, and is a beacon of hope for the community.

The Process
Over dinner, I met with the directors from the Bridge of Hope. They shared about the people there, their needs, and where they saw my skills would be helpful to achieve their dream of building a hub and secondary school in Africa.

The directors had a idea of the layout that would be helpful to meet the needs of the compound. I assisted them in brainstorming additional layouts that would achieve the need even better. After the meeting, and through email, we were able to land on a site layout to move forward with. The site and project is unique because they are making all the bricks with the dirt on the site.

The goal for putting together a 2 page drawing set was to provide a diagram for the local ministry and volunteers to build from. In the photos below, you'll see an ariel view of the site as it is under construction. The lower photos show the local builders, and brick making process, as the compound is coming together!
